Yes. Creative Feedback gives the audio file itself to an AI model, which listens to the whole song and writes timestamped notes on the arrangement, sound design and what to try next. Engineering Feedback does not listen. It measures your mix and master (loudness, tonal balance, stereo width, low end and dynamics) and compares those measurements and spectrograms with a released reference track. Not with a score. Slapback doesn't give a number or a grade. Engineering Feedback sorts its findings into critical, important, minor and praise, then sums up what to work on next. Creative Feedback answers the question you ask, like "Banger?" or "Is it ready to release?", with timestamped notes on what's working and what isn't.

Yes. Every account gets 1 free Creative Feedback run and 1 free Engineering Feedback run, each on a full track, with no credits and no credit card. They don't reset each month. Free also includes measurements on every track (with a daily limit), unlimited human collaboration and sharing by link. Pro is $16.99/month for unlimited Creative Feedback, unlimited Engineering Feedback and priority support, and you can cancel anytime.

There are two kinds. Creative Feedback answers a question you pick, like "Banger?", or one you type. Engineering Feedback measures your mix and master against a released reference track. AI specialists for mixing, mastering and arrangement, plus a vocal producer on tracks with vocals, agree on what to fix and how. Feedback arrives in about two minutes.

It happens. The AI can mistake one section for another or name the wrong instrument. Mark the note Not Helpful or Ignore it to hide it, or ask the AI a follow-up about it. On Engineering Feedback findings, use the thumbs to show which part was off. If the reference track is a poor match for your genre, pick your own before you run Engineering Feedback. If a run went badly wrong, tell support and we can give you another.

Yes. Cancel anytime in the app: open the menu under your profile picture, choose Manage Subscription, then Cancel subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for and won't be charged again. After that you're back on Free. Free runs are per account, so runs you used on Pro count toward them.

No. Start with an audio file exported from any DAW (WAV, MP3, AIFF or FLAC), or import a track from SoundCloud if the artist allows downloads. An Ableton Live Set is optional. Attach one and Creative Feedback can use your track names, plugins and arrangement, and collaborators can see how the session is built.

The AI gives you a fast first pass whenever you want one: Creative Feedback on the song, Engineering Feedback on the measured mix and master. People bring taste, context and the relationships that keep you making music. Slapback puts both on one timeline.

Yes, and we encourage it. Many producers use the AI while they work on a track, then invite collaborators to comment before release. AI notes and comments from people sit on the same timeline.

Yes. Click the microphone when you add a comment and record your note. To pin it to a moment in the track, start your comment from that spot on the waveform.

We store audio files (mp3, wav, etc.) securely on our servers to enable playback and collaboration features. However, we do NOT store your .als (Ableton Live Set) files. These are analyzed in your browser, and we only extract the essential metadata (track names, arrangement, plugin usage) needed to recreate the project structure. Your original .als files never leave your computer.

No. Your music is never used to train AI models. Creative Feedback runs your audio through Slapback's proprietary AI system, and Engineering Feedback sends it measurements and spectrogram images, not your audio. Your music stays private and is used only to give you feedback.

Slapback was born out of frustration with the inefficient ways producers share feedback. Disgusting inline email threads, voice memos with vague timestamps, and walls of text that reference 'that part after the drop'... there had to be a better way.

You can already use Slapback with any DAW! Simply upload your exported audio file to get started with AI and human feedback. Full DAW project file support (like Slapback has for Ableton) will come to other DAWs (Logic, FL, Pro Tools, Reaper) in the future.

Yes and no. Plugin Hell and Slapback were built by the same team. Both products help make the artist collaboration process easier, but they exist independently (for now).

LUFster is a free, browser-based LUFS analyzer built by the same team. It provides professional loudness measurements (Integrated LUFS, True Peak, Loudness Range) without uploading your files. Everything runs locally in your browser.

Absolutely! Slapback is already partnering with IO Music Academy, where students use Slapback to submit course homework and receive feedback from instructors.
